From Reading

Reading is where several routes meet

Reading is a major rail junction and sits on the M4 at junctions 10, 11 and 12, with the A33 running south towards Basingstoke. That makes it a good starting point for groups heading west to Bath and the Cotswolds, south to Winchester and the coast, or north to Oxford.

It is also a big town, with large business parks, a university and a professional football club. A booking from Reading is rarely a single pick-up from one door, so we plan the route as a whole.

Pick-ups in Reading

Where in Reading we collect from

  • Reading stationA major interchange, useful for groups meeting off trains from several directions.
  • Business parksThames Valley Park and Green Park each have many offices. Give us the building and the entrance, and we will plan staff days out and events from one point.
  • University of ReadingStudent societies and sports clubs heading to fixtures and trips. A booking from the Whiteknights campus works best when the pick-up point and time are agreed up front.
  • Select Car Leasing StadiumShooters Way, RG2 0FL, easiest by car via junction 11 of the M4. Supporters’ clubs travelling to away matches can be collected near the ground or from a pub or club in town.
  • Schools and clubsReading, Earley, Woodley, Tilehurst and Caversham. A minibus gets into tighter roads and school car parks than a full-size coach.

Festival weekend

Reading Festival, and getting people out of it

Reading Festival takes over Richfield Avenue over the August bank holiday weekend, with around 100,000 people expected. Richfield Avenue is closed for a spell late at night to help people leave, and traffic is managed carefully on the bank holiday Monday, so pick-ups and drop-offs need real planning.

If your group is heading to the festival from the Thames Valley or beyond, tell us which gate you need and what time you want to be collected. We agree the meeting point and the time with you well in advance, rather than improvising at the kerb on a Monday afternoon.

Questions

Can you take a group to Reading Festival?

Yes. Put the address on the quote form and we will confirm the vehicle.
